*1983 Dakar, Senegal
Won the first national art prize at the young age of 6. / Received an A* in the IGCSE Art examination from the Cambridge University in 1999. / Currently lives in Tokyo and is enrolled in a PhD programme at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. She creates film, animation, graphic design and all forms of fine art.

Interpretation

As Qatar is a country rich in oil, I decided to use "oil" as the theme for my bear. I wanted to create a simple image, one that is eye-catching as well as original, so, I used graphic methods in my painting. I thought that something humorous and cartoon-like would be uplifting for people to look at, so I tried to make my bear as funny as I could.
