Interpretation

The Lithuanian bear is painted in two main colours representing my own relationship to the country - ochre and dark blue. They are the colours of the Baltic Sea and the beach. The stylized ribbons that look like they are moving with the wind surround the bear. They stand for the changes that Lithuania is facing.

On the back of the bear I've painted the city map of Palanga. Palanga is a spa on the Baltic Sea and the city I grew up in. This city doesn't only take on a special meaning for me, it has the same significance for all Lithuanians. Palanga celebrates the 750th anniversary this year.
