Over EUR 2 million for children in need

Since 2001, when the Buddy Bears appeared in the streets and on the squares of Berlin for the very first time, Buddy Bear activities and help for children in need have formed an inseparable unit. At charity events during this period, Buddy Bears have been sold at auctions in aid of UNICEF and many local children’s relief organisations, donations have been collected and a great variety of other activities surrounding the bears from Berlin have been realised.

Now we passed the magic mark of EUR 2 million!

An early Christmas present!

It all started in November 2002, when an auction - supported by Sir Peter Ustinov from the preparation stage to its realisation - generated €190,600 in aid of UNICEF.

46 “United Buddy Bears” were sold at an auction at the Museum für Kommunikation. It is thanks to the exclusive fashion label “Fior da Liso” that we have now passed the mark of EUR 2 million.

Through the sales of high-quality blouses designed with little Buddy Bear embroideries, €4 can be transferred to the organisation Buddy Bear Help e.V. with each sold blouse. The donation amount of €5,500 – transferred to us over the last few days - led to: Total proceeds from all activities amounting to €2,001,995 This amount is in aid of many children’s relief organisations all over the world .
