Brazil – a country with millions of colours and beautiful forests populated with hummingbirds. The land of music, samba and minerals. And the population is a diverse mix of ethnic groups and skin colours.

Yet everybody belongs to one nation and shares one language! The colour yellow represents the many minerals, the colour green the lush forests and the colour blue the Brazilian sky. Brazil’s flora and fauna is extremely diverse and it has the most plentiful freshwater resources worldwide. Blue and yellow macaws, hummingbirds, toucans, anacondas, saíra-sete-cores (green-headed tanagers) and jaguars are some of the Brazilian species with colours rich in contrast and unique beauty. Black and white wavy shapes on the pavement of the Copacabana are transformed into a huge anaconda. This is where the samba dancer – full of the joys of life - practises his light-footed steps and celebrates the explosive beauty of his feather headdress. This feathery adornment soon becomes a crown on the bear’s head. The samba dancer and the hummingbird that is flying on the other side of the bear are joined by a golden thread holding the crown.

Brazil is crowned!! The dancer in the picture is Clementino Rodrigues - better known as Riachão. He was born in the Brazilian state of Bahia and is one of the most famous living samba composers in Brazil. The steps of the samba dancer are in marked contrast to the pace and the skills of the black capoeira dancers. The anaconda encounters a big blue macaw, the biggest macaw on the planet, while two other anacondas return to the sea to listen to the sound of the waves and the instruments.

The Brazilian Indian stands for the currently 350,000 people who belong to Brazil’s indigenous community and who speak around 180 different languages. When the country was discovered, the indigenous population still exceeded 2 million.

And that’s PELÉ, the king of football, scoring a goal with an overhead kick. He jumps up and cheers, straight from the heart of all Brazilians!!! The bear, with a gold-framed flag at the very top of his paw, looks up to the sky and says: “Yes, God is a Brazilian and I feel really good here! And takes another step and repeats again and again: “Yes, I feel really good here, in Pelé’s country, the football nation! Tô Beleza! is a colloquial Brazilian expression for “I feel good, I am really well! The artist created a true “Tô Beleza!” bear.
