Interpretation

Eritrea has nine nationalities under 4 million inhabitants. In order to show the unity of the people, the nine flags are connected to each other in the form of a belt.

Eritrea's flag has four colours - green, red, blue and yellow symbolize economic development, wealth of the sea (Red Sea), mineral resources and the thirty-year-long fight for freedom.

The bear is wearing sandals. These were worn by both men and women during the freedom fight. Due to their comfort, uniformity and simplicity, they were highly appreciated and are still regarded as a symbol of the fight for freedom.

The Buddy Bear has a map of Eritrea in its eye. The eye is light, it sees the world and warns us of danger.
