Artist: Jacob ole Paringo
He is a traditional Masai artist from Tanzania. Since 2001, he has been working on his favourite type of art - Tingatinga paintings.
With his work and other activities, he is very committed to his native country. Among other projects, he organises and supports the construction of schools.
On the front of the Bear, I have painted Mount Kilimanjaro - the highest mountain in Africa and the highest 'walkable' mountain in the world, as well as the different animals of the national parks, which represent many favourite Tanzanian national parks, including Ngorongoro, Serengeti, Mikumi, Selous, Tarangire and others.
On the back of the Bear, I have painted Zanzibar, one of the most famous and beautiful islands in Tanzania. Fishing in the Indian Ocean using Ngalawa (small boats) and enjoying the nice beaches decorated by palm trees are part of Zanzibar’s beauty.
