Interpretation

In the West of Sierra Leone stretches a coastline of approx.

400 km. The beaches are wonderful: fine sand, palm trees, blue water ... and nice people, mainly fishermen form the ethnic group Temne. Fishing is one of the main industries of the country and is therefore shown on the bear.

The traditional art of Sierra Leone, that e.g. finds its expression in figurative paintings and masks, is also represented.
