* 1945 on the island of Santo Antao/Cape Verde

He is an autodidact.

Since 1972 he's participated in a number of number of national and international exhibitions.

He's organised a lot of individual exhibitions in different parts of Portugal. His works are part of several museum collections.

A.o. first prize "Volcano Medal" - Cape Verde, during the 25th anniversary of the country's independence.

Interpretation

My bear radiates "the Lightness of Being" and would like to share its joie de vivre with all those people looking at him. The central motif is a saxophone player with musicians, surrounded by a landscape of volcanoes, sand dunes and the sea. The hot sun makes the light flicker - music is in the air.
