Since 2015, the European Award „Blauer Bär“ (Blue Bear) has been presented annually. This year is no exception - albeit under completely different conditions than in previous years. However, the appreciation of the civic commitment was in no way less. A strong and united Europe is of utmost importance, especially in the current situation. Individuals, but also initiatives and associations have rendered outstanding contributions to strengthen this bond. Five of the nominated persons or groups of persons were presented with the blue Buddy Bear and prize money on 26 October 2020 by the State of Berlin and the European Commission in recognition of their commitment.
