In spring, the non-profit intiative wirBERLIN called on children between the ages of 6 and 12 to participate in a poster competition. This year's motto was: "Protect the environment, it is our future!" They and we were overwhelmed by the response. 1,707 entries from all of Berlin's districts reached initiator Beate Ernst and her team. A total of almost 2,000 children, 85 schools, 15 children's recreational facilities, clubs and daycare centers, and 68 private households took part. The posters vividly show what each individual can do to make our world more beautiful now and the future greener again.

A festive Award Ceremony took place in a small setting at Checkpoint Charlie in Berlin. There, among other things, the poster of 11-year-old Cihan was unveiled on a large billboard. It will be seen all over Berlin this summer and will promote the joint responsibility of each individual for sustainable, environmentally conscious and resource-saving behaviour.

A student from Schadow-Gymnasium accepted a Buddy Bear as a special prize for his school, which has been involved in the wirBERLIN poster competition for many years.
