Berlin's athletes of the year were once again honored in an online gala on December 15, 2021.
Berliners voted para-swimmer Elena Krawzow as "Sportswoman of the Year" and water jumper Patrick Hausding as "Sportsman of the Year". The soccer players of 1. FC Union Berlin were able to celebrate twice. Both the team and its coach Urs Fischer received the prestigious golden Buddy Bear with the inscription "CHAMPIONS 2021 - BERLINS SPORTLER*INNEN DES JAHRES".
