A Buddy Bear for the German Embassy in Suva on the Day of German Unity

The German Embassy in Suva, the capital of the Fiji Islands, has now officially completed its first Buddy Bear. It was unveiled as part of the celebrations to mark German Unity Day. 

Ambassador Dr Andreas Prothmann had the honour of presenting the artwork together with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism, William Gavoka, as well as other high-ranking guests such as the opposition member Fayaz Koya, the Secretary General of the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat, Baron Waqa, and the Acting Chief Justice, Salesi Temu. The artist, Jake Eastgate, was also present at the celebrations.

The Buddy Bear was undoubtedly the attraction of the evening and attracted many enthusiastic guests who took numerous photos with him. He is now a special highlight in front of the embassy.
