The time had come on 29 September: Berlin celebrated the 50th anniversary of the BMW Berlin Marathon, and we from Buddy Bear Berlin were right in the middle of it!
A very special highlight was the Buddy Bear specially designed for the marathon. All runners had the opportunity to purchase this unique Marathon Buddy Bear as a special souvenir of the event - a piece of Berlin marathon history to take home. The bear is also available for fans of the marathon and can even be personalised with your own race number.
Another highlight was the participation of Managing Director Viviana Plasil, who completed the 42 km across Berlin as a runner. As a Buddy Bear ambassador, she impressed not only with her endurance, but also with her enthusiasm for this special event. Before the marathon, we also had the honour of welcoming some very special guests to our Buddy Bear office: Chloe from Scotland and her parents Diane and Stephan. Chloe and her father Steph are an impressive duo who took part in the anniversary edition of the marathon as a team. They have taken part in countless sporting challenges including marathons, duathlons and even the World Triathlon Series - an inspiring example of team spirit and determination. The 50th BMW Berlin Marathon was an incredible experience, with almost 60,000 runners cheered on by hundreds of thousands of fans along the course. We congratulate all participants on this great achievement and are delighted to have been part of this special event.
