Since Sunday, March 13, 2022, a Buddy Bear has been greeting the women, men and children who arrive at Berlin Central Station after fleeing Ukraine.
This "Welcome Bear" is designed with the Berlin flag and the word "Welcome" in the six official languages of the United Nations. On the back of the bear is the golden rule in German and English: "Treat every person as you would like to be treated."
We from the Buddy Bears would like to set a small mark with this gesture - as we did a few years ago, when the sculpture greeted the many refugees cheerfully and full of optimism in front of the LaGeSo in Berlin's Bundesallee.
