The Löwenbräu Keller takes part in 'United Buddy Bears' Sydney 2006 for Unicef
The Löwenbräu Keller, has purchased its very own Buddy Bear and has become a sponsor supporting the 'United Buddy Bears' Initiative for Unicef. 'Lowie Bear' was designed by Sydney based artist, Hugh Oliveiro.
At the Löwenbräu Keller we embrace the global project's motto: promoting tolerance, international understanding and a peaceful coexistence of all nations 'through the stomach'. Here people from different nations and all walks of life sit together shoulder to shoulder enjoying a piece of Bavarian cuisine, bier and culture in the heart of The Rocks.
Come and visit 'Lowie Bear' outside the Löwenbräu Keller and see the artistic talents of Hugh Oliveiro from Wednesday, 8th March.

Worldwide Tour
The United Buddy Bears project was the vision of Eva and Klaus Herlitz in 2001 and since that time, the bears have been on one long tour of the globe. To date, in every city of its tour - Berlin, Kitzbühl, Hong Kong, Istanbul, Tokyo and Seoul – the exhibition has enjoyed significant support from people such as Peter Ustinov, Jackie Chan, the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Horst Köhler and the Prime Minister of Japan, Junichirô Koizumi.
