More than 120 life–sized colourful bears are coming to Hong Kong to promote love and peace and to foster the arts. Called the Buddy Bears, each bear is a unique work of art painted by artists from different countries. The bears are currently on a world tour and will be auctioned off at the end with the money donated to UNICEF. Hong Kong actor Jackie Chan was so touched by the exhibition when he was making a movie in Germany that he persuaded organisers to bring the exhibition to Hong Kong. The bears are the creation of two Germans looking for a universal symbol to promote peace and tolerance amongst nations. Visitors can also take part in a host of Buddy Bear–related activities.
