Gestaltung: Stefan Merkt

<p>Stefan Merkt has been creating his works of art from used stamps since the summer of 1989 and names these <a class="external-link-new-window" href="https://www.stampagen.de/index.php/de/" title="Opens internal link in current window">stampagen</a>.<br /> <br /> Mosaic-like, hundreds of these postage stamps are put together and painted over. In addition to his abstract works, Stefan Merkt places a clear emphasis in the reinterpretations of the colorful comic worlds, pop art, and the expressionist pictures of the "Baue Reiter".</p>

Interpretation

The  Verein zur Erhaltung des Andenkens an Hildegard Knef e.V. (Association for the Preservation of Hildegard Knef e.V.), who also runs the Hildegard Knef Museum in Castrop-Rauxel, has installed a Buddy Bear who was created by the artist Stefan Merkt -  with the image of Knef made of stamps!
