Jackie Chan honoured the Berlinale with his visit and met old friends:
It is common knowledge that Jackie Chan is a great friend and supporter of the United Buddy Bears.
He was interviewed by the newspaper Berliner Morgenpost on 17th February 2010 (we quote from this interview):
Morgenpost: […] Is it true that you are a great friend of the Berlin bears?
Jackie: Absolutely. In every possible shape. Berlin and bears form a perfect match. Not that I believe – even being very optimistic – that I would ever be awarded a Berlinale Bear. But when I filmed “Around the World in 80 Days“ in Berlin a few years ago, the “Buddy Bears“ all over the city caught my eye. And when I heard that they do not only look good, but also serve a good cause…
Morgenpost: …namely to support children in need.
Jackie: Exactly. I am somebody who likes sharing his wealth. I very much enjoy supporting children who are not so well off. This is why I took the Berlin bears to Hong Kong and raised money there.

On 18th February 2010, Jackie Chan’s latest film "Little Big Soldier" celebrated its world premiere - outside of China - at the Friedrichstadt-Palast in Berlin. At the press reception before the premiere, Jackie Chan revealed once again that he was a great fan of the Buddy Bears: "I love Berlin. In 2003, I stayed in Berlin for 5 months and fell in love with the Buddy Bears at that time!". Subsequently, he gave some Buddy Bear miniatures to fellow actors from Hong Kong.
After the premiere, a cordial reunion took place with the initiators of the United Buddy Bear project, Eva and Klaus Herlitz.
