BUDDY BEAR AUCTION 2010 IN BERLIN - 71.533,-- € for children in need

On 11 November 2010, a major Buddy Bear auction took place in the beautiful surroundings of the Nikolaikirche (Nikolaiviertel) in Berlin-Mitte.

It was the task of auctioneer Julia Theurkauf to auction off 38 unique Buddy Bear sculptures in various sizes. 100% of the proceeds are in aid of children’s relief organisations.

The Buddy Bär Berlin GmbH and several sponsors covered the costs of the evening.

Together with six 2m tall Buddy Bears, mainly 1m tall sculptures and many individually designed miniatures (35cm) came under the hammer. One of these miniatures - designed by the Swiss artist Sabeth Holland - generated €1,750.00!

Hundreds of guests came to purchase one of the popular unique sculptures. This is reflected in the fantastic result: €71,533.00 will be transferred to UNICEF, the Stiftung KinderHerz, the Buddy Bear Help e.V., Die ARCHE and the GAGU-Zwergenhilfe e.V..
