Message of greeting by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Korea, Mr. Ban Ki-moon. 08.10.2005
”This year is particularly meaningful for us as the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany declared 2005 as “the Year of Korea”. A wide range of cultural events about Korea are being held in Germany.
Against such backdrop, I am particularly pleased that the “United Buddy Bears” exhibition will be held in Korea under the patronage of the German Government.
I have learned that the “United Buddy Bears” exhibition in Seoul will reflect the creative spirit of artists from numerous different countries, who are aspiring to convey a message of harmony and peace, that is coexistence, tolerance and mutual understanding among mankind.
I hope that the “United Buddy Bears” exhibition will significantly contribute not only to the expansion of cultural exchanges between our two countries, but also to the promotion of world peace as well as mutual understanding and cooperation of mankind.”
